US Railroads use EOT/HOT devices to monitor status of the last car in a train.
An EOT transmits data packets to the head end (HOT). Brake pressure, movement, and battery status are shown on a display in the cab.
These devices operate on UHF frequencies 457.9375 for the EOT, 452.9375 for the HOT.
The HOT/EOT are paired by a unique ID when the train is assembled and does not interfere with another train's EOT operation.
